Asking again- please help

In a need to get out of England quite quickly my daughter agreed to let her ex-husband keep their joint property. Before he was sentenced to jail she kept asking him to get the mortgage transfer completed. He stalled and stalled saying that he wouldn't go to jail. He went to jail in January 2009 for sexual assault on a minor.
In January of this year my daughter finally recveived the deeds to sign the property over to him which she did. By March she had heard nothing and her solicitor then advised that of course she wouldn't because the ex cannot transfer the mortgage until he is out of prison and working again. His solicitors asked her to sign blank, undated mortgage transfer papers - I advised her not to.
Anyway my questions are, as she signed the deed transfer back in January 2009 will that piece of paper still be valid and can she back out of her agreement to transfer the property to him?
Thanks
Dianne
