Being 'reasonable'

Hi,

I am currently seperating from a partner I have been with for some 20 years though we didn't marry. In this time we have acquired various items and the property we live in I bought solely though she has contributed to mortgage payments and bills.

I am more than happy for each of us to take everything that people have paid for. Having sought legal advice I have been told that legally I do not have to give her equity in the property though I suspect that this wouldn't be reasonable of me. I could wait for her to take it litigous if she would do this though I would not want to base a final decision on whether to give money on this.

She has never had a positive word to say about the property which has got on my nerves considerably. I am considering basically giving the money that she has contributed to the property back to her and call that quits.

Can anyone offer some solid advice along with some help on the legalities please ? Much appreciated
