I have just been recently divorced & my ex husband & myself had a joint overdraft account. In which he had control of via e banking.

As part of the divorce settlement my ex husband agreed to take on the account & the debt, in court he said to the judge that he would accept the debt & pay.  This was included in the general order.   I recently went to the bank to take my name off the account to find out that the debt is still there & i have contacted my ex husband & he has lied saying that he has contacted the bank but he hasnt.  I contacted my solicitor asking for advice but i have recieved conflicting advice could u please help me with advice,  has he broken the court order or is it not worth the paper it is written on.   many thanks

It reall depends on the exact wording of the court order.  have you tried showing the order to the bank?
