Left the marital home

My daughter has left the marital home (due to her husband's adultery).  She has a young child and is pregnant with their second child.  Although not able to work right now, last week she paid their mortgage (it is in joint names).  The bank will not allow her to close their joint account or take her name off the mortgage.  She is worried that the next payment won;t be made and that her credit rating will be shot.  Can anyone advise?
