Poorer after divorce

I am recently divorced and have a complete nightmare on my hands. I have ended up without a house as my ex-wife and the children live there. I have also managed to run up considerable credit card debts during the whole completely depressing episode. I now find myself faced with a big bill from my solicitors, which I knew was coming but unfortunately didn't put anything aside to deal with it. I don't know who to turn to as I have quite a good job but between paying for the children, renting a property and trying to keep the credit card companies at bay, I am at my wit's end. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? My overdraft is too big for my bank to consider extending so I can't even go to them. Any helpful tips would be gratefully received.
