elderly couple marital home

My mother is 79 years old. She has been married for 7 years to a man who has a controlling personality which resulted in bullying . She left the home on the advice of her doctor and for the past 12 months she has been in the divorce process with a 3rd court appearance pending. The husbands daughter claimed involvement due to a trustee issue which she has now backed out of as she cannot substantiate her claims. This has prolonged the process and the cost to my mother who has already gone through £15,000 in rent(she has to stay in unsuitable rented accommodation) and solicitors fees and her health is affected badly. The house is now on the market and based on the poor property situation may stay for some time. The daughter offered to buy my mother out for £20,000 less than half the value of the house which was rejected.  My question is what can my mother do to get her half of the money which she desperately needs. If she has to wait for it to sell which will take some time maybe as much as 2 years she would be penniless and homeless whilst the husband will be fine as he is living at the house. The daughter claims she cannot increase her offer but she is a property and business owner. This is very unfair what can my mother do?
