Equality and financial independence can encourage women in their twenties to delay making a commitment to matrimony because they feel that no-one they have so far met ticks all the boxes in their secret list of essential qualities for a potential husband. Consequently, they persuade themselves that there is actually someone out there they are going to meet who will match up to their expectations.
